Building For The Future
Dear Friends,
If you have driven past Buchanan Hall recently, you have seen that, thanks to your continued support, the renovation project is essentially complete. The initial landscaping is in place, and the events which we have looked forward to for the past five years are now taking place. Meralyn Autry, our new manager, is in the office every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 2. Please contact Meralyn to answer questions and make arrangements for using the space.
Through your generous support, in both large and small donations, we have completed the construction with a small amount of money remaining and a $300,000 mortgage. Once Buchanan Hall is fully booked, income from our events will cover our operating expenses.
Right now, however, we have two very pressing needs: First, we need to raise enough money to sustain our operations, including heat and electricity, while we advertise the fact that Buchanan Hall is available and to generate the events which will pay the bills. Second, and more importantly, we need to raise enough money to be able to support the kinds of community functions which were the reason we started this project. Our community center is available for everyone to use – for families, for churches, for local organizations – at a minimal cost. To do this, we need to raise funds to subsidize the cost of charitable events.
Buchanan Hall is a charitable, non-profit organization, supported by your contributions. We are now asking for your help to make Buchanan Hall not just a beautiful building, but an active and vital part of Upperville and the surrounding communities. Please consider contributing generously as we enter this new phase of our work.
